Resident Evil 5 Review (Playstation 3 — PS3)

Resident Evil 5 continues the amazing series after the events of Resident Evil 4, and the black market is spreading the viruses. You are Chris Redfield on an assignment in Africa with your partner Sheva Alomar. You go through a village and see the locals. You head towards the butcher shop to get your gear and meet up with a contact. As you head deeper into the town, the residents don’t seem to like you very much and begin to attack you.

If you have played Resident Evil 4, then you should be used to the camera and the aiming. The only difference is the controls. At first, I had trouble learning the controls through the demo because they were opposite from RE4’s. I was used to them by the time I played through a few levels.

For those of you who haven’t played RE4, the camera is over-the-shoulder. This can be difficult for some people for a couple of reasons. Motion sickness can be a huge problem, but I’m not saying that you shouldn’t get it. You also can’t see everything on the screen, bringing up the difficulty level. Don’t worry about seeing everything, though, because RE5 makes up for that in sound and aiming.

The sound is absolutely amazing. You can hear everything going on around you, making up for the loss of vision, and creating a more horrifying experience for new players. Everything sounds just right and…
