Inertial Drift — Nintendo Switch Reviews
Racing games were once a genre of games that I tended to avoid. That was until I discovered the difference between simulation racing game, and arcade racing games. Once I figured out the difference I embraced my love for arcade racers, and they have since become one of my favorite types of games. The Nintendo Switch is a console that unfortunately does not have a plethora of choices when it comes to this genre. While this is not ideal, it does make me look extra hard at those that do come out, and Inertial Drift is one of those games. That being said, lets begin with the review with the most important aspects of any game, the controls and gameplay.
Controls: Drifting feels great with the twin stick controls. There are a few characters to choose from which all have different cars which handle differently. The right trigger is used to accelerate, the left trigger is to brake. The left stick is used to steer, the right stick is used to drift. Throwing out the right stick while in a turn will make you drift to one side or the other. If you let go of the accelerator, or tap the break during a drift it will increase the angle of your drift. The stick can be inverted, and which stick does what can also be switched. At first these controls seem awkward and take a while to get used to.
